Over 20 homes in Lakewood evacuated after crew strikes gas line (PHOTOS)

Approximately 24 homes in Lakewood were evacuated this evening after a construction crew struck a gas line, officials say.

The incident occurred in the Louisberg Square development shortly before 7PM.

“Supervisors on scene have advised that everyone is out and all are accounted for,” Police Chief Greg Meyer tells TLS.

No injuries are being reported.

Hatzolah has opened one of their ambulance garages to allow for evacuees to remain until allowed back into their homes.
