Over 15 Sign Up For Spring EMT Class With Lakewood First Aid

There will be a lot more EMTs around town this Summer. Lakewood First Aid tells TLS they’ve received over 15 requests within 24 hours of announcing a new EMT course they will be offering this Spring. The all new State course now requires about 200 hours to certify members as BLS EMT members.

The course is expected to last about 5 months, with classes three times a week. Times may change, says LFA.

If you’re interested in joining the class, you can send your name and phone number to: [email protected].

LFA notes, that joining the class does not necessarily guarantee a spot on the Volunteer Squad. To join the team, one would still be required to submit an apllication. TLS.

  1. who is the training through and what is the cost. in the past MONOC would not run course other than the two places of waretown and wall and i did not think Jersey shore ran these anywhere but there

  2. thats not what 4 was saying. he is warning people who might want to join Hatzolah that it is a very difficult organization to get into. I have heard that (read here on scoop) that they rarely take any new members (moderated). And yes first aid/ems/emt courses are all state mandated programs (we know that)

  3. Hatzolah is a dedicated group of yidden who routinely drop what they’re doing to save a life, have the fastest response time in the state, the largest number of cardiac arrest saves in the State & routinely transport do distant hospitals that no other squad would even think of transporting to.

  4. I think its a great idea to have this class even if you don’t join any orginization. Its good knowledge to have and may help save a life one day.

  5. I’m confused…. what training academy is providing this new EMT course (MONOC, Jersey Shore, Monmouth Medical, etc….)? The last time I heard anything Lakewood First Aid Squad Members weren’t certified to teach an EMT Basic course.

  6. To number 14: you have no idea what you are talking about. An emt course is 200 hours and a CPR and first aid is about ten (or less). They obviously learn much more.

  7. to #5 “L” THTAS SO TRUE HATZALA IS SUCH A IMPOSSIBLE THING TO GET ON TO IM TRYING NOW FOR OVER 2 YEARS EVERY WEEK I PUSH PLEAS3E SOME ONE HEAR MY VOICE AQND HELP ME GET ON SO #5 “L’ THATS A GREAT POINT BASCLY DREAM ON IF YOU THINK UR GOINING TO TAKE THIS COURSE AND GET ON PLS RECONSIDER
