VIDEO: Over 1,000 Lose Power Due To Transformer Fire, Downed Live Wires

[VIDEO OF TRANSFORMER EXPLOSION] Over 1,000 in the Raintree, Villas, East Kennedy and surrounding areas have lost power due to a transformer fire and live downed wires on County Line Road, as first reported on our News Alerts.

The live wires are down on County Line Road between Brook Road and Ridge Avenue, and police have shut down that part of County Line Rd as they await the arrival of JCPL.

There’s no word yet on when power will be restored.

  1. this is the third blackout since the hurricane

    and altogether its the 8th time the power in my area that the power went out BH only 3 of the times did the power not go on right away and now is one of those times 🙁

  2. Is this America?? I feel like I’m living in a third world country! I mean seriously, can’t the electric company’s get their act together already?!

    Btw why do they replace rotting wooden pole with another wood pole? Wouldn’t it make sense to replace with something more durable like metal or composite material ?

  4. Hey, you think those few drops of rain did it? Every time it rains somehting goes wrong with the phones or electricity. We’re literally going back to the dark ages, folks!

  5. They gotta slowly start putting the lines underground. Some cities have that already. Eventually, it’ll cheaper to do that then to send out crew yeder muntig ihn duhnershig. If u know what I mean.

  6. I also had heard that the out of state power companies had some problems working on our power because what we have is so old they have heard about it but never saw equipment so out dated.
