The Orthodox Union Advocacy Center (OUA) welcomes the Department of Homeland Security’s announcement today, opening up the application period for the federal Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP).
DHS announced that $274.5 million is available through the NSGP to help nonprofits enhance their physical security, from installing cameras and reinforced doors to hiring security personnel.
OU Advocacy helped launch the NSGP in 2005, and the program has since helped thousands of faith-based institutions enhance their security. The applications this year are particularly urgent with the explosive rise in antisemitism and the High Holidays approaching.
Applications are due August 11, 2025, and can be submitted here.
“With the High Holidays approaching and threats to Jewish communities rising, this funding is more important than ever,” said Nathan Diament, Executive Director of the Orthodox Union Advocacy Center. “We urge every eligible Jewish institution to apply. These grants can help save lives.
“We at Orthodox Union Advocacy are very grateful to our allies in the Trump Administration—especially Amb.-Designate Kaploun and the White House Faith Office—for working to get this critical funding released. We also thank our allies in Congress—especially Senators Lankford, Britt, and Collins.”

NPGS Is Suing NSGP For Stealing the Letters of Its Name
NGPS is suing NSGP after the latter allegedly stole all four letter of the grocery store’s name.
“We’ve had shoplifters come in our store and steal food off the shelves, but we’ve never had anyone steal all four letters from our name!” an NPGS spokesman told reporters on Monday. “This is definitely a ‘First’ for us. I mean, why would anyone stoop so low and steal all four of those letters from us?! Why couldn’t they choose some other letters from the alphabet?! It’s crazy, and its criminal!”
However, a spokesman for NSPG told reporters later in the day that NSPG has no intention of changing its current name: “We will continue to adhere to the letter of the law, and not the letters of NPGS’s name!” he asserted.
