Opinion: Gov. Pence the Right Choice for Trump – by Ben Avrohom

opinionAs we now know Gov. Pence of Indiana will be Donald Trump’s choice for Vice President. As terrorist attacks tear through Europe and shootings of police officers become an all too often occurrence in America, an experienced governor is a perfect choice to balance the ticket. His strong record on Eretz Yisroel and combating radical Islam make him a choice who greatly enhances the Trump ticket. Finally he unites much of the Republican party. He is a popular conservative and someone respected throughout the Republican party.

Gov. Pence of Indiana has been critiqued for his lack of energy but with Donald Trump at the helm of the ticket, a soft spoken individual would be a good balance. In choosing a ticket many candidates look for a vice president who while echoing the campaign message also add something different to the ticket. Gov. Pence does just that, he is experienced, articulate and is enthusiastic about Trump’s campaign message of making America great again.

Unlike Tim Kaine, Clinton’s potential running mate Pence has a consistent and strong record on the security of Eretz Yisroel. Kaine boycotted Netanyahu’s speech to Congress. Mike Pence on the other hand not only attended that speech but told Netanyahu in a meeting in 2014 that he believes “the strong and broad and bipartisan support for the state of Israel… will be reflected in the decisions our United States Congress makes in the months ahead.” Kaine has met Netanyahu as well but also told Netanhayu to “continue his cooperation with and support of Secretary Kerry.” This shows Pence, unlike Kaine, views Israel as being in the right ,and not a two sided conflict the way Mr.Kaine and other left wing liberals seem to view the attacks on Israel and its military responses to defend it’s country. In addition, in the state of Indiana Mike Pence signed into law a bill which opposed the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement. (Algemeiner.com)

Mike Pence can serve as a unifying factor in the Republican party, His stance on the war on terror, being socially conservative and fiscally conservative put him within the mainstream of the Republican party. He can potentially win over some conservatives and Republicans who were not on the so called Trump train which is essential in defeating Clinton. If the base is on board with Trump and the ticket can unite the party this a major step forward for the Trump campaign. Despite his ability to unite the party ,Mike Pence has made clear that even in areas where there was disagreement (ie on a temporary ban on refugees/immigrants from terrorist supporting countries for instance )Pence now has come around to Trump’s opinion. Now perhaps he can win over some in the conservative Cruz wing of the Republican party.

Of the choices available to Trump, many agree that Mike Pence was the most logical and unifying pick for the VP position. His articulate and conservative positions can win over some who were not already supporting Trump and his positions on radical Islam, his support for the safety and security of Eretz Yisroel and his knowledge of how government works adds a tremendous amount to the Trump campaign. With Clinton’s integrity being called into question by the email scandal and other examples of undermining of trust throughout the Clinton career, many will conclude a Trump/Pence ticket is the better alternative in November.

  1. Donald Trump and Mike Pence will be the next president and vice president. This country will never elect Hillary Clinton. Her negatives keep going up and up… and they wont come down any time soon. So its over for her. She may have wished that she never decided to run in the first place.

  2. Trying to snag Jewish vote. You can spin it how ever you like, Dr. Roberts on board also attracts frum voters. No doubt Christie will be there as well. All politics and manipulation. You think the prez or vp really care about people.

  3. Vice Presidents do almost nothing. Changes zero re Trumps problems. All it shows is that he sold out for power. He never in the past agreed to half of Trumps policies, but threw them by the wayside for the possibility of VP.
Let’s keep this simple. Anyone who votes Trump is just not smart enough to realize how dangerous the man is. Since such realization should be obvious, anyone who doesn’t realize this would have to be foolish…
