Oorah: Purim Party Is Not Intended For A Boys & Girls Hang Out

oorah party 2010Oorah, who hosts a Purim party each year for the Oorah families, has requested that TLS remind boys and girls not to come and ‘hang out’ at their party. “Coming to hang out will only create a big Chilul Hashem. The second part is a strictly private Seuda for older Bnei Torah. If you are not looking for Divrei Torah, Zemiros and rekudim please don’t come. The Kiddushas HaYom will be strictly enforced”.

  1. When giving mussar ..one shouldn’t give the people new ideas. For instance saying (moderated)”, might serve as a new idea for some who otherwise might not have thought of that.

  2. ….” one shouldn’t give people new ideas”……. , wake up and smell the coffee. These are not new ideas. But they must be said because some people don’t get it unless you say it outright. A freilichen Purim.

  3. this was not a good thing to post. i dont think people who would have wanted to ggo for other reasons would abstain beause of a post. and for oorah to try to shore up their public image with this post well…. why not change the metzius nad then there would not be a need.

  4. What is so hard to understand?
In the past Oorah has had serious tznius issues going on on the premises. Tznius issues NOT from their guests, just from drop-ins. They cannot monitor this, but then they get blamed.
