One injured after vehicle flips in Toms River (PHOTOS)

One person was injured in an accident in Toms River involving an overturned vehicle, police said.

Toms River Police and EMS were dispatched Tuesday to the intersection of Sun Valley Road and Oak Ridge Parkway for reports of a motor vehicle accident where a car was on top of another vehicle.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Pauline English, 51 of Bayville, was traveling north on Oak Ridge Parkway when her 2006 Hyundai Elantra left the roadway to the right. Her vehicle struck the curb, a fire hydrant, street sign, traveled across Sun Valley Rd, struck a curb and vaulted into the air, overturned coming to rest atop of a 2000 Jaguar parked behind the fence on the property at the corner of Sun Valley Road and Oak Ridge Parkway. Ms. English sustained a laceration to the top of her head and was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by Silverton Volunteer EMS ambulance as a precaution.

Ms. English was cited for Careless Driving and Driving with an Expired License. The accident is being investigated by Toms River Traffic Safety Police.
