One Extricated from Vehicle following Head-on Collision; Traffic Alert

PHOTO: Two people were injured, including one who needed to be cut out of a vehicle following a head-on collision on New Hampshire Avenue this afternoon.

The two-vehicle crash occurred around 3 p.m. at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Pine Street.

One of the vehicle engines caught fire as well.

The injured drivers were transported to local hospitals in unknown condition by Lakewood EMS.

LPD’s Traffic & Safety division is investigating the accident. Traffic detours are in place for the duration of the investigation.
