On Unifying Klal Yisroel

What comes to mind when you think “Siyum Hashas”?

Celebration. Limud Hatorah. Milestone. Accomplishment. Klal Yisroel.

The combination of all these factors is what makes the Siyum Hashas such a unique event.

But if you were to pick one overarching word, a word that encompasses the entire event, a word the perfectly describes the feeling and atmosphere of the Siyum… that word would be UNITY.

There is no other event like it on our days, nothing that even comes close. There is no one, no matter where he or she lives that isn’t aware of the Siyum Hashas and is not connected to it in some small way. Men, women, and children are all part of it.

Jews from tens of countries, hundreds of cities, and thousands of homes celebrate together. It is the collective celebration of Klal Yisroel, one that connects us all to enormous achievement that is the Siyum Hashas. It’s an event where differences don’t matter, a milestone we can all celebrate. It has truly changed and elevated the Limud Hatorah of today’s generations. The Agudah’s Siyum has connected and unified us all.

An organization that has accomplished a similar feat of unity, although in an altogether different sphere, is United Refuah Healthshare.

“What Daf Yomi did for Shas, United Refuah HealthShare has done for Healthcare in Klal Yisroel”, says Moshe Katz, Director of United Refuah.

How?

United Refuah HealthShare has singlehandedly transformed the way healthcare is approached in our community. With a singular, dedicated mission, the founders of United Refuah set out to accomplish what other faith-based communities have been practicing successfully for decades – and has united American Jewry by creating the very first Jewish healthcare sharing organization. Today, the thriving organization continues to devote itself to the health, savings, and values of Jews across America.

While the traditional healthcare system has become more and more costly and unappealing, the United Refuah HealthShare community, is steadily gaining traction – with members in 34 states across the country! Membership starts as low as $219/month for a single, $349/month for a couple, and $519/month for a family.

The creation of United Refuah HealthShare has eliminated a crushing financial burden that faces many frum families in America today. Without exorbitant healthcare costs, there are many families and Kollel couples that are now able to allocate that much-needed money toward other essential needs.

How does it work?

Members make monthly contributions, and after a small portion is used to cover administrative expenses, the rest is transferred directly to the member’s health sharing account. When another member encounters an eligible medical expense, the funds are shared from other members’ accounts.

United Refuah members strive to live healthy lifestyles, and as a result, their actual healthcare costs are far less than is the norm. That is because health conscious people have fewer bills, lower costs, and much more rapid recoveries. And finally, by eliminating procedures that run contrary to Jewish values or are unnecessary, United Refuah saves its members thousands of dollars each year.

But the rapidly growing organization is not, however, just about savings. It’s about a community of people united toward greater health. United Refuah is based on the moral and Torah principles that it is an inherent obligation for members to maintain their health and wellness and to promote the best life possible for themselves and their families.

United Refuah Healthshare is proud to be a part of the Siyum Hashas and is proud to play and integral role in the unification of Klal Yisroel.

United Refuah HealthShare, the first and only Jewish Health-sharing organization, offers the American Jewish community a chance to share in each other’s healthcare costs. United Refuah HealthShare is not an insurance company and does not offer insurance. It is a thriving community of like-minded people who support one another, all based on Torah-true principles and values. Currently, it has nearly a thousand active members in more than thirty states across the U.S.
