  1. Has anyone contacted the local Civil Air Patrol units in that area. They have specialized training and equipment for search, rescue and recovery if needed in those area. They can usually mobilize in an hour or so after notification.

  2. How about starting up Tehillim again – either where it was left off (at 75, I think) or from 1 again?

I’ll do 76 and 1 right now. Next one pick up where you wish.

  3. BH there are many volunteers arriving. People are bringing ATVs, boats, horses, bikes. If you are available, please come. If you are a caterer or know of one that would be willing to provide food for voluntters, please do so.

  4. Please note the new staging area!

Eastern end of the LIE. Approx 1-1/2 hours from NYC.

  5. I can’t believe ppl from Monsey or Lkwd, wqhich are 3 hrs away , r sending ppl. Brooklyjn & the 5 towns have Thousands upon thousands of frum, askanishe, families. Where is everyone ? Problem is, only Lkwd has a “Scoop” !!

  6. #10, what do you mean “the problem is much deeper unfortunately”?

Also, TLS editors, you have an error in the first paragraph, 2nd to last line:

“the last area his to which his cell phone service was traced.”

That first ‘his’ should not be there.

  7. Was the call his voice? Did someone steal his cell phone?
Are they searching for his phone as well?
How does he still have gasoline to get around?
I am concerned about foul play?
Lets continue to daven and all lost people of klall yisroel should
    find their way homel

  8. I was taught that a person will normally walk in a circular path and will end up where they began unless they use visable landmarks or terrain features because of the earth’s rotation. Plus if it’s thick foilage people tend to concentrate on getting through it and any kind of navigation skill they might have get put aside cause they are so fixed on just moving. Hopefully this person finally ends up where he started and there are people to help him. My prayers go out to him and his family.

  9. This story is so sad. A Mesameach volunteer told me today that reports that he was sighted near a hospital was not true. R’ Steve has not been seen or heard from in over 6 days. H-shem yeracheim.
