Officials have requested that TLS notify residents to keep vehicles and trash bins off the road this weekend, should there be a snow storm. Although much snow is not expected fpr Lakewood – possibly up to 5 inches – keeping vehicles on the roads will prevent the plow trucks from performing a proper cleanup, officials said.
TLS asked if it would be legal to park vehicles on the lawn for the weekend, and were told it would be legal under the circumstances.
Residents can also use the Municipal parking lots as an alternative.
The snowfall is expected to begin late this evening. TLS-HB.

This is hilarious. The computer models are barely showing an inch or two for Lakewood, and everyone is preparing for a blizzard. Bloomberg is holding press conferences. What a waste of time and over reaction. Just because everyone messed up on the big storm doesn’t warant wasting time and taxpayers money on a few flurries.
Stop complaining & get a life!

You can keep laughing but last weeks blizzard came as a total surprise to everyone including the metereologists. On Friday Accuweather.com was saying “snow possible” with zero inches accumulation. When I looked at TLS motzei shabbos I was shocked to see that “snow possible” had turned into predictions of 12-18 inches which ended up being much more than that too! This winter is deceiving. So keep laughing,and I assume driving in the snow.
When they asked not to park on streets over the “weekend” does that mean tonight? It’s not the weekend but as far as I know they expect the main snow tonight into tomorrow.

actually last weeks blizzard was shown on the models early friday, a full 48 hours before the storm, so I don’t know how you can call it a total surprise. I don’t know what you saw on accuweather, but the up to date forecast from the National Weather Service on Friday afternoon was for accumulating snow. This case is entirely different. there is no model showing a major snowfall whatsoever. Hence the waste of time, resources, and credibility with the public.
Oh, so we should stay off the street. As if, if we do they’ll clean up. Yeah, we all stayed off the streets last time, how did that work for us, huh ?!!

How about if the township would take into account that many Lakewood residents don’t have internet, or even newspapers? Maybe use Kol beramah or those annoying robocall services to get the word out that cars should be off the streets?
Where do I put the cars? On my lawn? On my builders property? What about my basements car? My driveway barely fits my minivan! Any ideas? Planning approved the development as the attorney said it will be nice an droomy as the builder will be giving and leaving extra trees and “green space” so should I park there? Will I get towed if I do? Will I get thrwon in jail for parking on “greenspace”? What if I knock down the tree will I have to pay Lakewood with the new ordinance?
Maybe I should park it on Lex and 10th parking lot!

There’s a puddle in front of my house from the wet snow and I haven’t seen a DPW truck drive by the whole day to take care of it. I pay tons of taxes! I even took my car off the street! In brooklyn the puddle would have been taken care of hours ago!
