OFFICIALS: Goal To Have All Electricity In Lakewood Restored By This Evening

Local officials tell TLS the goal from JCP&L and its affilliates is to have all electricity in Lakewood restored by this evening. Captain Gregory Meyer of the Lakewood Police Department says officials told him the same, and the Police Department is doing their part to help out.

As per the Chief’s orders, Captain Meyer says, “We’re giving them whatever assistance they need.”

Lakewood Officers can be seen at nearly every busy scene where JCP&L trucks are stationed, in order to help expedite the process.

Currently, extra crews have been brought into Lakewood this morning in an effort to restore power to the remaining approximately 8,500 customers.

With the additional JCP&L-affiliated crews brought in, there are currently over 150 JCP&L vehicles doing repairs on the roads of Lakewood. TLS.

  1. There are three large trees down on power lines on Gudz road and they haven’t been touched yet. In my estimation there is no chance that the power will be on for Gudz, Katie ct, and Attaya rd. by this evening.

  2. Seeing is believing! I haven’t seen any Jcp&l work on the down lines in my area. Tent City is becoming more and more appealing!

  3. Didn’t see any jcp&l guys but did see a number of crews from Alabama. Please take this opportunity to make a kiddush hashem as this is probably the first and last time they will encounter actual jews!

  4. If anyone witnessed an accident today at approx. 1:49 on laurelwood and county line, please let me know! Its a big mitzva and will save a lot of agmas nefesh!

  5. would be nice to believe this story, but i am not getting my hopes up. over a week already. we got a call from jcpl at 4pm last monday- 3 hours after we lost power stating that they tried to fix the issue.

call jcpl. you get a bunch of stories,,,,,

  6. if the electric does go on, PLEASE be careful to properly disconnect the generators BEFORE you put on electric in your house (depending on how it was connected) also be careful not to leave the 220v plug live. maybe TLS can write an article about this. Hashem yishmor from any mistakes.

  7. lets all give JCP&L a big applause for their hard and committed work, and for trying to get hundreds of thousands customers back up as quickly as humanly possible.

    Thank You Thank You !!!

  8. Can TLS please stop posting all the complaints. There is no point to complaining on this site. It just spreads negativity and potential Chilul Hashem. Don’t forget, Hashem runs the world, if He wanted your power on it would have been. Compared to what is going on outside of Lakewood we are very fortunate. Talk to people outside the community, we come accross as a bunch of whinny complainers. Does anyone really think complaining on TLS is going to make a positive difference?

  9. saw miltiple truck working on lines at 2nd and rt9 and a few crews working on 5th and the 9 as well as dozens of repair trucks on the move in the same area along with a heavy LPD presence so something may be happening.

  10. To lakewood teacher. Are you insinuating that only lakewood has actual jews , but places for example like michigan and Minesota dont? And what makes you say they will probably never see an actual jew again.Being that you call yourself a teacher, please clarify yourself.

  11. Sounds like a contradiction. One story says 8,500 out of power. Next story says, all on by tonight. So, u thing JCPL can repair 8,500 homes in 1 night ? Neither do I. Go Romney!!

  12. was so excited saw crews working by Ridge and New Hampshire looked hopeful! AND STILL NO POWER!! I guess we’ll have power in time for the next storm!! Would love to get one night with power before we lose it all over again on Wednesday!!

  13. it took them one week to restore power to 12,000 why should i believe them that they will restore 8,500 in one day?

besides, there are three trees down on the wires on Gudz Rd, jcp&l has come by several times to tell us ‘tomorrow’, so far no one has started working there…..

  14. Thank you JCP&L for working tirelessly through nights, days, rain, wind, cold, to restore electricity to the citizens of Lakewood. There are many, many people in this town who appreciate what you do!
