Officials Call Off Land, Air And Water Search For Steven Mayer, Relying On Media For Last Hopes

Lakewood Chaveirim unloading Jet Ski in RiverheadA week after Steven Mayer, 65, of Riverhead went missing, officials are now calling off the ground, water and air search and relying on flyers and the media to still try and locate the missing businessman. “We’re not giving up hope”, an official who has been involved in the search since the beginning tells TLS, but at this time, we’re relying on whatever help we can get from the media and from the flyers, until we get another lead”.

steve mayerAs earlier reported, approximately 2,000 volunteers turned out for yesterday’s massive search which was focused on the Riverhead area, the last area to which his cell phone use was traced.

Steven Mayer went missing Monday morning October 4th, and has not been heard from since. The last to hear from him, was a colleague at his office, where he was apparently on his way to, but never showed up.

  1. It would be much more effective if the reward being offered for finding Steven Mayer was increased significantly, to perhaps $100,000 and publicized all over the general media. This would get people looking and searching!
