Police Officer Injured In Early Morning Crash

officer involved in mvaPHOTO: [UPDATED] A Lakewood Police officer was transported to the Hospital this morning following a car accident. The officer was traveling in the area of Route 88 and New Hampshire Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. when he got into the accident, and suffered an injury to his shoulder.

The condition of the other driver is unknown at this time. It’s also unknown at this time if the officer was responding to a call at the time of the crash.

The officer was transporter to Kimball Medical Center. 

In May last year, an officer was injured after his vehicle crashed into a tree just before the end of his night shift. TLS-89/TLS-32/TLS-Y

UPDATE: 8:05 a.m. Police Chief Rob Lawson tells TLS the officer was treated at KMC and released.

  1. Our prayers are with the officer and his family at this time. We hope he is going to be alright. And as committeman Meir Lichtenstein said recently to all the Lakewood police officers “come home safe, always safe”

  2. people shouldn’t speak if they can’t say it the right way. it’s safer to come up with their own phrase instead of messing up sombody elses quote that holds alot of meaning behind it.
