  1. I’ll tell you one thing. I wouldn’t want people to know my name if it was me. I can just imagine the conversations regarding an incident like this…. hope the officer is o.k.

  2. Its none of your bussiness what his name is it was.an accident and it doesnt have to become public knowledge who it is just pray that he has a speedy recovery and appreciate the times he put his life on the line to save you or people you know

  3. I wish him a speedy recovery without lasting injury.

Understand that officers on and off duty are under arms. Any time that arms are present, there is a danger of accidental discharge, if the officer had a round chambered.

  4. TO #9:

we dont know what laws he has broken or not. this “eatery” could have been a a restaurant with a bar, and he could have consumed alcohol and began to mistreat his firearm. guns just dont shoot themselves. its happened plenty times before, that cops act out of line in certain off-duty situations. so dont claim ” he has broken no law” until we know for sure.

  5. what a bunch of yentas! what difference does it make what the name of the person is? everybody wants to know everybody elses business. (moderated)

  6. Hey #13 Right to know does not include names on a blog or post..this is freedom of speech..protected under our Constitution…You do know what that is don’t you?

  7. It doesnt matter his name,,As long as hes ok thats what really matters!! Just imagen what this town would be like without any officers . i dont even wanna think about it.. we should all just be happy they wanna work here …

  8. The reason no name was released was because they chose not to have it published. If you are not part of LPD you will probably never know. This is a fact!!! Ease up to all the nosey people and gossipers!

  9. No Alcohol was involved. If there was, it would have been reported right away and the officer would have been charged. Things happen by accident. Thats why its called an accident. Just know that police offers have the right to privacy as well as lay people. Everyone should respect that during this time. So stop begging for the officers name. BACK OFF!!!!! Why cant you just pray for a speedy recovery without any longtime injury. You also pay him to protect you!!!!

  10. That is the problem with people now in days, they lack compassion and have mini God-like complexes that some how entitle them to judge people without knowing facts. Just wish him well and be glad they unselfishly signed up to serve and protect people who are not always grateful! I personally have family and friends on LPD and a lot of what they encounter most of the public will never know and trust me they deserve every penny they are paid! They have definitely made my neighborhood safer and am I’m indebted to the fallen officer Chris Matlosz for a personal matter he handled and if any of you live in this town you should feel the same as he paid with his life to “serve and protect”…respect these men and women! Oh and #21….we may pay their salaries but we don’t own them nor does that give us the right to demand who he is, no wrong doing has been reported and until then you have no right to demand anything!
