The Ocean County Health Department (OCHD) has just announced the newest official COVID-19 case count for Ocean County.
There are a total of 5 new cases being reported between the Ocean County and Long Beach Island Health Departments in the following municipalities;
1 Lacey Township
1 Manchester Township
1 Seaside Park Borough
1 Ship Bottom Borough
1 Toms River Township
This brings the total official case count for Ocean County to 53 as of 2:00pm Friday, March 20, 2020.
The OCHD is also providing a COVID-19 Information Call Line for residents and clinicians to answer questions regarding the coronavirus. The number is 732-341-9700 ext. 7411. This call line will be staffed through the weekend to answer questions from residents. Staff from the Health Department will also continue to work through the evening and weekend to continue working on this situation.
I suppose this is a count of those who were tested. We don’t know how many more have the virus and either have it mild so they don’t know they have it or are just not reporting that they are sick even if they have it more severely.
The statistic is a joke as they’re not testing people under 65. Just judging from my friends, family and neighbors who have the virus based on the symptoms, there are thousands of cases in Lakewood alone. I have the virus and it’s pretty miserable but b”h for me it’s been only like a bad flu.
