lkwd 1-3-14 plowing snowDon’t pack away your shovels just yet – there’s more snow coming. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Lakewood from Wednesday evening until 1 PM Thursday afternoon.

The precipitation should begin as all snow on Wednesday night before changing over to a snow and sleet mix early Thursday morning, the Service said. By mid day Thursday, precipitation is expected to be primarily rain.

Snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches are expected.

  1. They say that the direction its heading is thru a very polutionized area and may come down in GREY or close to BLACK!!!! Ugggghhh!!!!
    I hope they’re wrong!!!

  2. Thanks TLS ,at least 6 people read the scoop now try and get the other 15,000 to read, follow and understand. more snow on the way for Thursday am.

  3. BOE – if you cancel now, people will complain, if you cancel tomorrow, people will complain, if you cancel the next day, people will complain, if you ever cancel, people will complain.
    So don’t cancel !
Oh wait, if you don’t cancel, people will complain

  4. Everyone sing along: “We ask when, oh when, when will these snowstorms end; tell us when, oh when….. How we yearn to see the streets clear once again…”
Anyone know what tune I’m referring to?
Anyway, that was just some entertainment, the real question is still: “When will this golus end..” May it be very, very soon, before the next snowstorm still!

  5. Unnassembled snowmen for sale. Great for kids. New colors arriving Wednesday. Bodek carrots and all current style hats in stock. Cash and carry, free air shipping.

  6. After your street has or has not been plowed PLEASE,PLEASE if you need to shovel DO NOT shovel it back on the street—shovel it onto the grass.

  7. Snow, sleet, rain then ending in more snow. Approx 6 inches it is time to close like other schools. If you have schools that want to stay open then stay open. You drive them no problem. We will not be on the roads causing problems…. Stay home

  8. How about we start a separate thread where we post areas (or blocks) where the residents haven’t shoveled.

Enough blame for the DPW – there is enough blame to go around for the residents of this town.

Perhaps a ticket blitz for non compliance with the shoveling code will clean things up a bit too.

  9. Of course, all this snow and historic cold weather is because of global warming. Just ask your local liberal.

Its times like these that I wish global warming was true.

  10. I shovel and people choose to walk on the street anyway. Even when there isn’t any snow, people walk on the street, congregate on the street. So I don’t see your point there!!!

  11. If this storm does hit this area and busses don’t run I hope the non-public schools have enough sense to close so people are not running all over town. School days can be made up. Safety first.

  12. Anon, I’m not taking away their option. Like I said I shovel. It seems people always choose that option. But to me that is very dangerous, regardless of whether it snowed or not. Especially the way people/buses drive through my development.
