NWS: Excessive Heat Watch in effect for Shabbos and Tisha B’Av

water heat tlsThe National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Watch, which will be in effect from Shabbos afternoon through Sunday evening.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect until 8 pm this evening.

Temperatures will reach the mid nineties through Sunday, and heat index values will hit around 100 to 105 degrees today and Sunday, and 105 to 110 degrees on Shabbos.

The heat wave is expected to break Monday after a cold front moves through.

The multiple day excessive heat will increase the risk for heat-related health issues, especially for the elderly and for those with chronic health problems such as lung and heart disease.
