A Lakewood Hatzolah member’s vehicle was among numerous vehicles burglarized over Shabbos.
The vehicles were parked in the 14th Street area – and many were apparently unlocked. Loose change and other items were taken.
One are resident says a neighbor heard noise at approximately 1:30 AM on Shabbos morning, and when he came outside he saw two people get into a vehicle and flee the area. The resident is encouraging victims to make police reports, which will prompt stronger patrols in the area.
Police have increased patrols in certain areas since the burglaries.
This comes after a rash of dozens of vehicle burglaries and vehicle thefts last Shabbos.
Police Chief Greg Meyer is urging residents to make sure their vehicles are locked each night.

What difference does it make if it’s a Hatzolah member? A break in is a break in, no matter who it happens to.
Very simple fix. LOCK YOUR CAR or have it AUTO-LOCK (you will get an insurance benefit).
