Can someone please explain 1) How it is possible to have 7 or 8 members and live on only 40-43k?
2) Are the amounts listed besides what you pay for rent or all included? If it is all included can someone explain why if you have 7 members and make 39k you qualify and will get 1500 a month rent. Which means you will then get a total of 58k a year and still qualify!! But if you make 45k now you don’t??? Shouldn’t it be 40k besides what you pay for rent!!
Please explain.

If a family is receiving TANF it is not included in income for the purpose of HUD vouchers. Certainly if you get paid under the table and show only $59k annual on tax returns you can commit fraud and qualify. Rent is based on monthly income and average housing costs for an area.
Income is just that, earned income. Voucher value and public assistance is not counted towards income. Rent is an expense and not income.
I get 656 dollars a month. My rent is 500 a month.
