[Public Notice] Notice is hereby given to the legal voters of the Lakewood Township school district, in the County of Ocean, of the State of New Jersey, that a Public Board Meeting will be held live-streamed through the District Website: www.lakewoodpiners.org, on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at 7:00 pm, for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on the following budget for the 2020-2021 school year. This budget has not been approved by the Executive Ocean County Superintendent of Schools and will be revised upon approval. Recognition of the Public questions can be submitted by emailing to: [email protected], from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

They are putting the request for a $60 million loan into the column for “Other State Aid.” This is a hidden tax increase.
There is no guarantee that the loans will be forgiven.
If the state approves the full amount, which they won’t, Lakewood taxpayers will be over $140 million in debt, 1.4% of your total property value, or a half year of taxes.
