Notice from Rabbi Shmuel Felder regarding worms in apples sold in Lakewood

TLS spoke with Rabbi Felder, who advised we publicize this to prevent a Michshal.

“They brought me the apples – each one had a worm in it,” Rabbi Felder told TLS. “I never saw something like that.”

The Rav confirmed the issue being with listed apples, which are sold in many local stores.

  1. In the olden days before chemicals were sprayed on apples we cut out the wormy parts. In todays world organic farmers have the option of using integrated pest management. Hopefully it will be this growers choice next year.
