PHOTO: A powerful nor’easter has knocked out power to thousands across New Jersey, including about 1,000 in Ocean County and in Lakewood.
The near-hurricane-type winds have toppled trees and taken down power lines across New Jersey, and official have urged caution while traveling or walking outside.
Utility company JCP&L warns residents to stay away from downed wires, and assume they are live. Never walk through deep waters near downed wires.
Should you see downed wires, report them immediately to police and to JCP&L by calling 1-888-544-4877.
