[Photo of firefighter saving a pet from the home] Firefighters this afternoon knocked down a fire before it could fully engulf a home. At about 2:15 PM, police and the Fire Department responded to Adams Street for reports of a structure fire and upon arrival found the rear of the home on fire.
The fire was knocked down shortly afterwards.
There were no injuries reported, and a pet inside the home was saved by a firefighter. TLS.
Fyi… it’s a ferret
Mark is my Hero
That Captain went the extra mile and risk his own life to save someone’s pet. Thank you Captain for all you do.
The fire was “knocked down??”. I never heard such an expression in my life.
I heard that the Captain gave the ferret CPR
Mark is a Pet animals best friend. I hope the ferret names his first born after him.
Hana – Most common expression at a fire scene.

You’ve never heard because your not a firefighter.
Way to go LFD!
For the record..it may be funny to some but I did not give a ferret mouth to mouth. I have had ferrets in the past and know how to handle them thus it made more sense to have me bring the pet to its family that was outside
I take my job very seriously and doing this, even though it was “not a big thing for me” some play it out to be funny..Thanks
You go Mark. Keep up the good work.
thank you to the captian for when you brought out our pet. (figgit) we really did appreciate it.!
#5 – to be honest hearing that joke made us all laugh.! but we do thank him and it wasn’t funny…
