No More Dating At The Hilton Lobby

hilton lobbyJUST IN: If you planned on taking your date to the Hilton lobby-like many from BMG do, you should find yourself another place. A reader has just notified TLS that he and another date were sitting in the lobby of the Hilton on Route 70 this evening when they were approached by the staff who asked them to leave because of a new policy. A TLS reporter wishing to go on a date spoke with the Hilton who confirmed the new policy saying, that the lobby is indeed off limits for those who are not currently staying at the hotel. If you wish to purchase a drink, you can sit in the bar and restaurant area. 1. its only fair to buy a drink! Why should they “host” the dates if there is nothing in it for them?? If the lobby is full of dates then the paying guests might not have a place to relax. I was there once, with a guest of the hotel, and we were very much appreciated because, 1) someone was paying for a room and 2) we were drinking!!!!

  2. Pure antisemitism. Its totally inexcusable that an international chain finds it bad for business to have badly dressed guys and girls staring at eachother in their lobby.

  3. the is no room in the bar to sit with a girl on the date there is like ten high chairs around the bartender, and even if you buy a drink they said you could only sit in the bar and not lobby or if you want to buy from restaraunt.
i was kicked out from there once and the staff said that the policy came about b/c of jewish dates coming in.
do you think if the african american would go there on dates they would kick them out, I DONT THINK SO.

  4. Mark you are either that hotel owner or a friend b/c i am sure when you were going out with your wife , you went in to hotel but now you dont want those yeshiva guys in your hotel.
no body is freeloader unless they use up something but when someone sits on coach nothing is being used there is only room for max two couples so its not like they are taking up the whole lobby

  5. cant blame them. Dont bother playing the race card here guys… its a business and they need to do whats best for business. If you want a free place to sit and date- go to the library!!!

  6. anyone who thinks that its not good for bussines , look at sturbucks there are people there sitting the whole day and nobody says boo.
I AM ASKING AGAIN IF AFRICAN AMERICAN WOULD BE GOING OUT THERE WOULD YOU KICK THEM OUT .

  7. Its about time that dates stay in. Did you ever see a rosh hayeshiva sitting in ahotel lobby? So why so a potential rosh hayeshivah sit in a hotel lobby?
Its not a good ‘chinuch’. Just stay in. You save money and it is less ‘bitul Torah.

  8. u guys dont know what youre talking abt its owend by a orthodox jew who is trying to stay afolt he is a very nice and fine jew who again is just trying to make a parnasa

  9. I don’t know why you are all having this issue. I went there a couple of times and they were so glad to see me!! But anyways, what ever happened to good old plain OCEAN PLOTZ????!!! Stop with all the esav soneh es yakov…Just go where you are wanted!

  10. I was all along not for this type of dating in ‘Hotel lobbys” i mean the whole thing from drinking from a glass that who knows who just drank from, to the fact that all the goiem stare at you (with the corner of their eye thinking we dont notice) to see how we date.
besides the fact who came up with this whole idea of dating this way, i agree “siting in” in your future shvigers house is not ideal BUT THERES GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY!

  11. brisk boy: They wash they glasses just like they do in bais faiga maybe better, (jk) do goyim stare at you in the street, maybe we should stop walking outside? if we all had to sit in our future shvigs house for dating
we would prob not end up marrying st all 4 fear of shvig.
Stop being so timid go out & FEIF whoever stares at you they’re prob just jealous. or maybe the marriages should just be prearranged???

  12. TO MIR BOY; I evaluated all that you had writen b4 i posted my comment, and made my comment af al pi kein. i am happy to see at least we agree on the Shvigger situation. please reread my comment with propper concentration. Best wishes 4 a gut gebenched yur to you and all of klall yisroel.

  13. BRISK BOY: Ur comment is not a Tefillah, nor a Toisfos,
that it should require my PROPER concentration.
if you would write a Shtickle Shagas Aryeh, I would be M’eiyin. 🙂
However I respect ur opinion, u seem like a nice fellow!
Wishing u & ur family & all of klal yisroel a K’esivah Vachasimah Toivah!

  14. YOU GUYS SHOULD BE MORE REPECTFUL TO US SCHVIGGERS AND STOP MAKING FUN OF US– WHY IS IT WHEN WE GIVE ADVICE YOU ROLL YOUR EYES? AND WHEN WE OFFER YOU THE LEFTOVER CHICKEN FROM SHOBBOS YOUR FACES LOOK LIKE YOU JUST SAW A GOST? WHERE IS THE HAKORAS HATOV? SCHVIGGERS ARE PEOPLE TOO!

  15. I THINK I HAVE A SOLUTION; WE SHOULD MAKE A NICE CUSTOM LOBBY JUST FOR THE FRUM PEOPLE ONLY FOR DATING. YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE RESERVATIONS SO THERE NO OVERCROWDING, AND BEST OF ALL THERE WOULD BE FREE SODA!

  16. look as someone who has been to this hilton many times i could telll you that the place is doing very well and fullly booked many times as i heard the staff say that there is no vacancys. the person who owns is should have continoued hatzlocha .
My problem is that two people talking doesnt bother anybody, nobody knows wether they are from hotel or not, there is no room there for more than two couples, so why make a policy that they cant come in.
i think its because the owner works very hard and when he sees that people enjoy some of his work for freee , it bothers him and he bans them from coming.
AGAIN I HAVE BEEN THERE MANY MANY TIMES THERE ARE NEVER MORE THAN TWO COUPLES 85% OF THE TIME ITS JUST ONE COUPLE,
SO I HOPE THE OWNER RECONSIDERS AND POST THAT THE HOTEL IS OPEN , AS ANY OTHER BIG CHAIN HOTEL.

  17. i dont think when you went on the date you went to barnes and nobles!!!!!!
my point that goyeshe coffe shops hotels let people who dont bother them use it, with no problem , but our own fine orthodox look at boy and girl who are going out as freeloaders and other names , that is whats wrong here.

  18. just go someplace else, if you are not a guest of the hotel, drinking at the bar or dining at the restaurant, it is not unreasonable or prejudice to ask you to leave on their part, either stay in or go to one of the many parks that are open to the public in Lakewood where they can’t ask you to leave

  19. ITS NOT UNREASONABLE, BUT WHY GOYIM DONT DO IT, YOU CAN SIT IN HAYAT OR HILTON IN OTHER PLACES AND AS LONG YOU DONT BOTHER THEM OR BEING LOUD THEY ARE FINE WITH IT, BUT HERE SINCE THERE IS LIKE ONE COUPLE AT NIGHT THERE WHY WOULD THE OWNER MIND , THE ONLY REASON COMES TO MIND , IS THAT HE DOSNT WANT THE GOYIM COMING IN TO THINK THEY WALKED IN TO SOME JEWISH PLACE , I HEARD THAT SHOP-RIGHT WANTED TO RELOCATE DOWN TO HOWEL BECAUSE THEY FELT THE WERE LOOSING GOYIM BECAUSE OF THE JEWS WHO WERE ARE SHOPPING IN SHOPRIGHT .
COULD THAT BE THE REASON FOR THE NEW POLICY AT THE HILTON , YOU KNOW I WANTED TO GO THERE AT ONE POINT TO STAY FOR A FEW NIGHT , BUT I AM NOT GOING IF THIS IS THEIR ALTITUTE , WHICH THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO HAVE I MIGHT ADD.

  20. Dear tls editor,
Why does ut say thete is 33 comments and when u go into the comments there are only 24, happens with many other posts as well

  21. If you’re sitting in the hotel lobby on a date, where are the hotel guests supposed to go? They are paying for the use of the facility, not you. If there’s a very small space and you’re using it, well, I’m sure you’re smart enough to see why you’d be told not to stay there. Or are you? Maybe not!

  22. CHAVRUSA; you obviously have me confused with s/o else,
I understand the english language can be a struggle for some (you)
but my name is “mirrer boy” ur chavrusa’s name is probably mir boy.
by now i understand that u are also
Brisk boy, & judging by ur atrocious spelling ur also
SCHVIGGER, you must be really bored!!!
    p.s. regards to ur chavrusa!
