VIDEO: There were no reports of injuries after a fire broke out in a home on Read Place this evening. A General Alarm was hit out at about 7:00 p.m. this evening, and upon arrival, the fire department called for multiple backup units for flames and heavy smoke condition coming from the second floor of the home.
The fire was knocked down about 20 minutes later, and no injuries were reported.
Lakewood EMS and Lakewood First Aid were also at the scene on standby. TLS-89/TLS-00/TLS-CCP

WHERE ARE THE TWO HUNDRED VOLUNTEERS THAT SAID THEY WOULD JOIN????

Read Place is joins Albert Rd. and New Hampshire (courtesy of Google Maps)
Yea, David Perri’s dogs were great!! See ya tom. with the mobile at the dept.
WHERE ARE THE TWO HUNDRED VOLUNTEERS THAT SAID THEY WOULD JOIN????
They were at school!
To school teacher,
There is no way the 200 members you say joined were in school as it takes the state 2-3 months to review and approve a new member!!!
In reality 50 new members would rely help thus town out . We do not look at race or religion when someone seeks to join. Its very easy to join all you have to do is write a letter to the department you would like to join and we will mail you a application and walk you through the process and send you to fire school at no charge to you. So please those of you who say 200 new members will be joining I want to start seeing the applications.
And perry your wieners are the best!!!
#2 yes commissioner Mike Delia was on scene as always.
hey #11, I never said they were in firefighter 1 school, stop and think before you write anything. I know exactly how long the process takes, been there done that and still doing that!
fires out, lets have a beer !
It doesnt really matter on the amount of fire fighters there still aint enough equipment to go around 200 guys with one hose is pretty useless and the fd was in and out in a half hour it wasnt a major fire
#15 who says there isnt enough equipment. The Lakewood Fire Dept is one of the best equiped departments in ocean county. We have more then enough equipment , we need members. We need members willing to do the work , put the town and department first and expect nothing in return. To say this town does not have enough equipment is just a stupid comment made by someone not on the fire dept.
where was comm. lobello
