Video showing a suspicious road block on the New Jersey Turnpike this week has sparked a number of questions and concerns, and is being investigated by authorities.
“On Monday, November 3, just after midnight, troopers received calls about a disabled vehicle on the side of the Newark Bay Extension in Jersey City,” the NJSP said today. “When troopers arrived, the two occupants from the car were near their green Chevrolet Lumina. The driver of the vehicle, Kareem Walston, 37, of Orange, was found to be under the influence and charged accordingly. His passenger, Hashen Clark, 36, of Jersey City, was charged with hindering and found to have an active warrant.”
Troopers discovered that the vehicle had run out of gas. Troopers believe that the subjects may have tried an inappropriate and dangerous way to get help. The incident is still under investigation and further charges are possible.
Motorists encountering suspicious and dangerous situations such as this, are encouraged to leave the scene as safely as they can and immediately report the incident to 9-1-1.
I’m very confused
The article and title are not clear. What exactly happened??
Apparently they used their car to block part of the parkway in an attempt to get people stop and help them.
I thought the title meant that the police were causing a suspicious roadblock. Glad to have it clarified.
