NJ Transit Terminal Evacuated for Unattended Luggage

PHOTOS: The NJ Transit station on 1st Street was evacuated this afternoon after an unattended piece of luggage was found just outside the building’s entrance.

The Lakewood Bus Terminal was shut to bus traffic and the parking lot was cleared while police awaited for an Ocean County K-9 Unit. First Street was shut between Clifton and Lexington Avenues as well.

The Lakewood Fire Department and EMS also responded to the scene.

The dog determined the piece of luggage to be unharmful – it turned out to be empty. (TLS-CCP/TLS-46).
