NJ SNAP Recipients to Receive $77.8 Million in Additional Benefits in August

The New Jersey Department of Human Services announced Tuesday morning that the approximately 439,000 New Jersey households who receive assistance through the SNAP program will receive an additional $77.8 million in August benefits.

The NJ DHS has been providing NJSNAP households with max benefits since March 2020, and has now distributed $924 million in supplemental monthly SNAP payments.

The $77.8 million will be in addition to the max benefits already being received by households, as officials attempt to ensure food security among low-income New Jersey residents.

Households receiving SNAP benefits can check their balance by clicking here or by calling the number on their SNAP card.
