Nitei Torah Leadership Training Event for 36 Future Marbitzei Torah

Thirty-six dedicated yungerleit attended a Nitei Torah leadership training event at LTC’s Lakewood headquarters. The program featured interactive exercises to prepare the participants for a future in harbatzas Torah.

The Leadership Roundtable brought small groups of yungerleit together with seasoned Marbitzei Torah and community leaders to address a communal issue together, based on specific fact patterns.

The issues dealt with were designed to be gray in nature without clear right and wrong sides. Leaders face these issues on a regular basis, and these yungerleit showed themselves to be ready for the challenge. As Mr. Charlie Harary shared with the group, “To be comfortable in the uncomfortable is where greatness happens.”

The group is comprised of top yungerleit from representing a cross-section of the Torah world’s best and brightest, products of top yeshivos who share in a mission – to prepare to be the future Marbitzei Torah of Klal Yisrael. They, together with their families are ready to take the achrayis and make an impact on the future of our nation.

Renowned motivational speaker Mr. Charlie Harary, a world-renowned expert in leadership and author of Unlocking Greatness, inspired the group and gave them wonderful insight on how to develop themselves into the best leaders they can be.
“Why does the Torah prais Yaakov Avinu’s ability to remove the rock from the well with ease?” asked Mr. Harary in the name of the Rosh HaYeshiva, Rav Malkiel Kotler Shlit”a, “is superhuman strength an important trait for our gedolim?”
Mr. Harary shared an insight from the Rosh HaYeshiva that had a profound impact on the audience. We tend to think that ability spurns responsibility. If you have the ability you do, if not you don’t. The Torah is teaching us that this is not the case. Rather, responsibility breeds ability. Yaakov was unable to lift the rock, however, he determined it was his responsibility, and therefore Hashem gave him the ability to do so. He went on to share with the group that each of us, by taking responsibility, will no doubt merit all the abilities needed to have a monumental impact on the world.

The evening began and ended with a beautiful Melava Malka and the chance for the group to meet the Marbitzei Torah from around the tri-state area who came in for the event.

Mr. Harary shared with the yungerleit that though we in Lakewood may feel like there is so many yungerleit sitting and learning and we’re so accustomed to this reality, “The world is chalishing for you…princes of Torah who are giving of their precious time on a Motzei Shabbos because of a deep sense of achrayus for Klal Yisrael.”

This event was sponsored by Olami, the world’s largest international organization which brings Marbitzei Torah to communities of unaffiliated Yidden and allows them to taste the wonderful undiluted joy of Torah.
