Newt Gingrich Projected Winner Of South Carolina Primary

CNN projects that former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has won the South Carolina GOP primary, with all the polls now closed in the state. With Gingrich projected to win in South Carolina, Mitt Romney winning New Hampshire and Rick Santorum taking the Iowa caucuses, this will be the first time in modern GOP primary history that three different GOP candidates won Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. Since 1980, every winner of the South Carolina GOP primary has gone on to win the partys nomination. More in CNN.

  1. As I’ve written here many times, the elitist leftist media and the elitist Republican establishment needs to understand that the conservative Republican base does not want Romney to be the nominee, because we are sick of these pseudo-Republican liberals being no different than the Democrat liberals.

We want a real conservative, and it aint Romney. If we manage to get Gingrich or Santorum, great! If not, it’s gonna be Ron Paul (unfortunately). But no matter how much the media tries to take down Gingrich, the conservative base just won’t go for Romney. If they do manage to take out Gingrich, it will leave the base with no choice but to go with Ron Paul. So please! Let it be Gingrich!

  2. Santorum is a great choice. Gingrich is a close second. Either of these choices would make conservatives happy.
Romney just doesn’t excite anyone enough to make the masses come out on election day.
