To all TLS readers and Lakewood residents, I want to thank the residents of the community that supported me in the Fire Commissioners election on Saturday. I will try as I have in the past to serve the Taxpayers of Lakewood in all aspects of Fire Safety. The community is a very vital part of the town and I will always be available to you. I am sorry that the budget did not pass. We have always maintained a no nonsense budget and everything we do is to keep the Department up to date and ready to serve the Township. All the things that we are doing and the money we spend is to better the Department for now and the future.
Thank you again for your continued support!
Commissioner,
Michael J. D’Elia

Who did he run against? how many votes did he get?
Well Commissioner maybe you should look at taking some responsibility for the EMS department. Do you think that a private transportation agency is going to standby at a fire scene and assist when fireman are injured or need oxygen without charging you. As the fire commissioner you should support Lakewood EMS. Step up and do the right thing, verbally support your Lakewood EMS. Who do you want to come save you or one of your men or women.
Why was the election on Saturday?
Mike–keep up the good work! We appreciate you!
Mike keep up the great work. We know you do your job with the best of interest for the town.
Michael J is a winner in all aspects of his job and his life.
Mike, You’re a Mensh!!!!
Mike, in the years we worked together I gained the most respect for your courage, determination and above all your ethics. Lakewood is fortunate to have someone like yourself serving the community.
stop spending as much money as you can save some up and then lend it to the board of education
Dear fire Commissioner Michael J. D’Elia, i was wondering on a way to communicate with you. regarding our lfas.
to # 1 there are 5 commissioners that are voted on. either 1 or two are up each year. This year Mr De’lia was running un apposed. there were many write in votes, but most supported Mr. De’lia.
To # 3 the voting ran until 9:00pm so that you had plenty of time after Shabbos to go vote. It was written up in the papers & also was posted here on the scoop. The fire commissioners do not dictate when the elections are that is done by the state.
Good Luck MJD

Mike–keep up the good work! I appreciate you! All
the Best to you.
To – #2 EMS Supporter —
Weren’t you at the January First meeting? I was. It looked to me like ALL the Lakewood firemen were at the meeting IN SUPPORT of the EMS. Look at the pictures that were posted on TLS of the meeting, the ones showing the audience. How many firemen can you see?

Amount of fire stations in the surrounding towns are as follows
Jackson has 7 stations, Howell has 7 stations, Brick has 9 stations and Toms River has 9 stations- hope that answers your question NFPA and insurance underwriters guidelines must be followed (response times of apparatus/ amount of apparatus/ type of apparatus)other wise the cost of fire insurance goes way up

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY LAKEWOOD NEEDS SOOOO MANY FIRE STATIONS
To let you in on something…Cedar Bridge Ave 2 firehouses 1 Paid Company, 1 volunteer Ladder company. The rest of the firehouses are all volunteer. They are set up in zones..so you don't get a firefighter coming from the town area if they have trucks in that zone..The Lakewood Fire Dept is highly skilled and trained. They train every month sometimes more than usual. Would you rather have less fire stations and higher taxes..because of the response time? I think not but then again..what else does anyone have to complain about now. Find a decent issue..not picking on the volunteer fire dept in Lakewood..if you ask some of the personnel you will find they know just as much about this town as some of you, if not more..some grew up here or have lived here for more than 20 yrs. Give it a break.
we need more firemen like Mike. also Vizio and leather couches. thank u very mucho
to#17
well we’ll just close down all but one firehouse then when theres a fire and we all have to drive to that one station and then drive all the way across town to the fire with one truck we’ll just have have to hope or wish on a lucky star that your house didn’t burn down because i will tell you right now the surrounding towns are not going to come to Lakewood to fight our fires, they don’t even want to come here to standby for alarm calls while we fight the fire, but thats ok because your taxes will be lower so no worries and all smiles
Congratulations to a stand up guy, Mike Delia. I agree with #13… Delia for Mayor! You have my vote!!!!
Why are there so many Hatzolah stations?
Does the big oak tree on Sunset Road which the ambulance is parked under count as a Hotzolah Station??
