PHOTOS: Newly elected Fire Commissioner Larry Loigman got his first official tour of Fire Company 2 today. Loigman, who was voted in along with incumbent Juan Ortiz in February, was given a tour of the building by Fire Chief Rodney Youmans and Juan Ortiz, before sitting down to a private meeting.
Loigman won over long-time Commissioner Vince Lobello.

keep up the good work Commissioner Loigman!!!
go Larry! Thanks for stepping up for Lakewood.
To number one what has he done so far? The budget was cut by $155000.00 did you hear that one of the fire trucks pump went bad? It’s going to cost just over $40000.00 to fix it. The truck is also one of the newer ones.
$155,000 cut but budget surplus was over $2,000,000.00 So I would say the fire tax rate needs to be cut.
Larrys big day at the fire house….
When we are talking about lives, does a couple of dollars really matter
Why was the scoop there for a private walk-through? Who invited them?
did anyone ever hear “penny wise and dollar foolish” ??????????
thats what cutting the budget is
Since when does the media need to be invited…..the whole purpose of the media is to keep track on what’s happening in town.also contrary to popular belief….the fire department is a public domain….so anyone cud go there anytime. So my advise to you is…take a chill!!!
The scoop wasn’t there for the private meeting and the comments about the fire department budget should be dropped if you like to know more about what goes on in the fire department then join and become a member
The reason for the picture is to show the community that Mr loigman is working with the fire fighters and to get their input
Based on the comments to this post, it like there are alot of firemen who are still bitter about their guy losing the fire election.
To number 10: the fire department is a public agency. You don’t have to joint to make comments. The real problem with the fire department is that they feel that they own the department and unless you join keep quiet. Not in America!
To number 12 I am a Lakewood resident and its a disgrace to see the communities here in Lakewood pick on the fire department just think i run into a burning building as others are running out I am a proud volunteer fire fighter for Lakewood I don’t get paid I pay my taxes and I don’t have a problem paying fire tax to keep my family safe
“Since when does the media need to be invited…..the whole purpose of the media is to keep track on what’s happening in town.also contrary to popular belief….the fire department is a public domain….so anyone cud go there anytime. So my advise to you is…take a chill!!!” …..Just so you know NOT anyone can go to the firehouse and walk through at anytime it may be a public service but you can NOT just come and go as you please and I know that for a fact. So my advice to you is chill.
And also it says right on the signs in the parking lot PRIVATE PROPERTY
