New Traffic Signs On Madison Avenue Removed

7th madison sign down_wmJUST IN: Many have already noticed, that the new traffic signs-permitting right turns only on Route 9-or some may have not even noticed them to begin with-have been removed. TLS spoke with officials who explained the reason for the signs being removed as-although the change was submitted to the D.O.T-being that Route 9 is a State road, the changes would require approval from the State. The State has not yet approved the changes and the signs were put up illegally. One official also pointed out, that although he does not think any summonses were issued for violations during the brief time the signs were up, if you did receive a summons, it will most likely be dismissed.

  1. There are many other non-conforming signs in Lakewood. The lakewood police were notified & they still issue summonses.

The new game the Lakewood Police do is “COURT APPEARANCE REQUIRED” when it is not required, that way the Township can increase the fines$$$$. They can also get you to agree for an $85.00 ticket, to a bad plea bargain that costs you $439.00

  2. very nice waist more of our money put up signs take them down why not! the one who authorized putting them up should be fined and pay for them being put up and down Uh Hello accountability please!!!!

  3. We demand that the one responsible for this waste of money be held accoutable. Not some low level korbon like the fall guy for the White House by the statue of Liberty flyover.

  4. yudel,

I wish I spoke with you first before accepting the prosecutor’s $489.00 plea bargain deal, even though I brought pictures as evidence that I was not going above the posted speed limit on MLK Drive. He pashut just mached avek my proof and threatened to ruin my perfect driving record. Talk about intimidation..

  5. hey I got a ticket for turning and it said must apear in court it was funny well we are in goles doent the twsp know the law were and how to put up sighns were in menasha miller and meir lictenstein y caint the state give a $10000 fine for lkwd

  6. Look at the groundbreaking video & you’ll see Menashe talking to the chief about your tickets. You mus realize that Menashe & Meir always use the oppurtunity by these public appearnces to talk to the police & inspection Department about all of your issues & concerns.

  7. I got my licensed suspended in lkwd and I deserved it but these people who complain that lkwd police are anti semt your just in denial with yourself and grow up!!!!

  8. i guess hersh was right about the signs in the downtown too.just drove through at rush hour couldve done donuts on the street it was so quiet.wanted to make a left, sign said right only.made left anyway .ridunkulous

  9. Thanks for the turning lanes on Clifton Ave. They really help a lot. Actually today I saw three cars in the turning lane to make a left on Fourth Street. The first was a Sienna that her left tires were in the turning lane and the right ones were totally not. Behind her was a Dark Green Lumina circa 1998 that the front left tire was in the lane and ALL THREE OTHER ONES were not in the turning lanes bichlal (How did he do that?). The third one was b’etzem in the lane properly just a Pepsi 18 wheeler was parked in the other direction right across from the turning lane and all the people coming from Fourth that wanted to make a right had to squeeze in between the Pepsi truck and the 1st Sienna, so the third guy (I think it was a Silver 1994 LeSabre) kept a lot to the left so as to allow those people a bit more breathing room & room to maneuver so that they could drive and answer their cell phone that fell either underneath the gas pedal or in between the driver’s seat and the arm rest. So, uh, anyways, thanks for the turning lanes.

  10. #17, i am confused by that story, but the turning lanes do help, except when people use them to avoid the long lines and go straight via those lanes.

  11. the signs were small so you SHOULDNT see them.
this way, they can do what they really want to do – write tickets.

Oh, I forgot . its for your safety.

  12. I guess I’ll just do what I always do, avoid going downtown altogether. The NPGS in Jackson may be further, but, I get there faster, there’s the convenience store where I can get all my mailing taken care of etc. When I go downtown I think I am in Mexico, so why do I have to go there at all?

  13. thank you township committee for once again ,making a cholent(pungent stew)of our town.you have people driving in circles ,nervous to go left or right.
time to start from scratch.this time let the people that will actually be effected by the changes, drivers, pedestrians, merchants, day laborers, and schools, help make the decisions.
i know ,i know the next post will be from eli or moshe or chaim saying how much they love the changes, and it helps them get home faster.I spoke to real people, not anonymous apparitions, that said they cannot stand, nor understand, all the changes.
unlike you or I they have no desire or need to write about it on a blog, they will just avoid the downtown altogether.
OOPS! I FORGOT, THAT IS WHAT YOU GUYS ULTIMATELY WANT.
