New Toll Rates For Hudson River Crossings Take Effect Sunday Morning

Effective at 12:01 am on Sunday, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s bridge and tunnel cash and toll by mail rate for cars during all hours will increase from $16 to $17.

E-ZPass users during off-peak hours would now pay $12.75, up from the current $11.75 and $14.75 for peak hour tolls, up from the current $13.75 toll for passenger vehicles.

Discount bridge and tunnel toll plans, including the New York/New Jersey Staten Island Bridges Discount Plan, remain in effect.

All tolls are collected entering New York State. No tolls are collected entering New Jersey.

In addition, all Port Authority crossings are now cashless and no longer accept cash toll payments.

The Port Authority controls eight bridges and tunnels connecting New Jersey and New York. They include the Outerbridge, Goethals Bridge, Bayonne Bridge, George Washington Bridge, Holland Tunnel and Lincoln Tunnel.

Motorists should also keep in mind that the Carpool Plan is no longer available for use at the Bayonne Bridge, Goethals Bridge, Outerbridge Crossing, Holland Tunnel and George Washington Bridge, and as of December 11, 2022 at the Lincoln Tunnel.

These tolls increases follow last week’s increases on the Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike.

  1. One rip off after the other. Use our tax $ for what it is meant to be used and not for redistribution of wealth, and this would not be necessary.
