IMPORTANT REMINDER: TLS Groups is No Longer Active, as TLS Switched to WhatsApp Communities for a Safer Reader Experience

WhatsApp recently rolled out its newest feature, ‘Communities.’

Over the last few weeks, TLS has been exploring using this option, as it allows users to be part of a group, without any other users seeing their phone numbers. Only the admins of the Communities can see participants.

In an effort to protect readers (as there have been instances where people have used the opportunity to message other members), TLS will now be publishing stories to WhatsApp Communities, instead of to WhatsApp Groups.

Recently, many reputable organizations have switched to Communities, including ArtScroll, and for enhanced security purposes, TLS has done the same.

To ensure you receive the stories delivered right to your WhatsApp inbox, be sure to join the official TLS Community here.

As usual, TLS appreciates the feedback we received from the readers to keep the Lakewood region’s #1 news source as safe and user-friendly as possible!

NOTE: TLS Groups is now inactive, so be sure you’re part of the Official TLS Community so you don’t miss out on the news!

The TLS Status remains unchanged.

  1. I feel safer already! WA already breached close to a total of 2B user’s names, addresses and phone numbers. It’s parent company, Meta (see who else they own) sells it to the highest bidder. Look it up.

  2. Correct. WA has been sued multiple times since 2018. Latest is in court as we speak. Several multi-million dollar lawsuits and the problem is still not fixed. WA messages including any with pics are only encrypted in transit not in the sender or recepient’s account. Read the terms of service. Don’t send pics and videos of your beautiful house and kids or the elderly. They already know where you live. Meta is the major willing provider of your info to advertisers and scammers.
