NEW: New Jersey Transit Reaches $10 Million Settlement With Woman Run Over By Bus In Lakewood

A 75-year-old Maryland woman who lost both her legs in a tragic accident in Lakewood seven years ago after being run over by a New Jersey Transit bus, has reached a $10 million settlement with the agency, TLS has learned.

Debra Cohn-Dobkin, then 68, was visiting from Maryland and was walking in the area of Route 9 and 6th Street around 3:00 PM on a Shabbos afternoon when she was struck by the bus, which was turning East onto 6th Street from Route 9 [pictured].

Mrs. Cohn-Dobkin’s legs were severely hurt in the accident and required amputation.

New Jersey Transit has not commented on the settlement.

  1. Because lawyers were probably seeking to recover 50 million dollars. After 7 years they settled for 10 million.
