NEW: Lakewood Sees Surge in Anti-Jewish Bias Incidents For 2025

Of the township’s 50 bias incidents last year, 34 targeted the Jewish community, marking a sharp rise from the prior year

Anti-Jewish bias incidents surged in Lakewood in 2025, with 34 of the township’s 50 reported bias cases targeting the Jewish community, data obtained by TLS shows.

The 34 reported incidents mark a sharp increase from 2024, when 22 anti-Jewish bias incidents were reported in Lakewood, which has largest Orthodox Jewish population in the state.

The local spike mirrors a broader statewide trend. Across New Jersey, authorities documented 2,583 bias incidents in 2025. Of those, 657 were anti-Jewish — the highest total for any religious group in the state.

By comparison, there were 64 anti-Islamic, or anti-Muslim, bias incidents reported statewide during the same period.

Bias incidents include a wide range of conduct, from harassment and threats to vandalism and other acts motivated by prejudice, though not all rise to the level of a criminal offense.

Law enforcement officials have said they continue to encourage residents to report any suspected bias-motivated conduct so it can be investigated and tracked, even when no arrest is made.

New Jersey officials have repeatedly pointed to the data as evidence of the need for continued monitoring, education and enforcement efforts aimed at curbing hate and protecting vulnerable communities.

Maybe if certain public officials wouldn’t be using tax funds for Tomchei Shabbos and raising the tax burden on the middle class, it might help that the public won’t look at us as taking their money.

Like my Father ז”ל whom had been in Auschwitz always used to say: It’s nothing new:
As essentials had become so expensive and unaffordable the incompetent Biden administration and the Democrats are not bashed, but the Jews are the ones being bashed.
2026 is the 90th anniversary of Hitler ימח שמו coming to power following Europes worst inflation in history. In Germany in the early 1930’s people used paper money as wallpaper to decorate rooms as it was worth next to nothing and the propaganda was that it was the fault of the Jews while they were all using Jewish doctors and professionals.

Your history is a bit off, he came to power in 1933/34, also inflation is way down from the 40 year record high under Autopen Joe.

This is one of the agendas of the secular Israeli government – to create and foster an antisemitic attitude throughout the world in order to convince the Jews that there one hope and solution is to move to Israel and accept their way of life. It’s sad that they will even sacrifice people’s lives and safety to accomplish this – but it’s one of their values and they think that they are helping the world.

Narishekite. Nothing to do with Israel. Everything to do with the fact mentioned by Rashi ZATZAL.

Paranoia is not healthy. Do you also have Zionist monsters under your pillow at night? If you truly believe the Israeli government has the ability -even if they wanted to- to create a rise in antisemitic incidents in Ocean County, NJ someone has programmed you to fit with his fake agenda. Stay away from him and it! I’m saying this as someone who used to have a Friday night seder in Vayoel Moshe and still uses the Divrei Yoel Hagada at my seder.

If they allowed copy and paste I would put in the whole quote, but this will have to suffice, “I award you no points and may G-d have mercy on your soul.”

A famous quote, but worth repeating.

If we don’t make Kiddush, they will make havdalah!

Have we become too comfortable in the Ihr HaTorah?

Maybe we don’t know how to act.

That quote is not about “becoming too comfortable in the Ihr HaTorah”
It’s about Jews giving up on even the most fundamental Jewish practices. Kiddush=Shabbos
It’s like we (sadly) have in America where for the majority of Jews Saturday is a day to go golfing or to the mall & Kosher only means no cheeseburgers.
Intermarriage becomes common & accepted. The children of the parents that hated Hebrew School know almost nothing about Yiddishkeit.
That’s when these Jews realize they’ll never be fully accepted in the Gentile world & that’s what this quote is about.

Maybe it’s time we look at ourselves and see what we are doing that may irritate the outside world.
