New Jersey Sues Trump Administration

New Jersey, along with 12 other states, has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, alleging that their new policy regarding immigration is illegal. President Trump’s administration recently announced that they would begin assessing citizenship applications based on “public charge” – the applicants use of welfare like food stamps and Medicaid. The lawsuit, led by the states of Washington and Virginia, and joining states Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, Rhode Island and New Jersey alleges that the new policy violates the Immigration and Nationality Act.

Trump, who has sought to curb illegal immigration, and who has advisors who are vocally opposed to mass immigration, says the new policy is lawful, and that it encourages “the ideals of self-sufficiency and personal responsibility.” It should be noted that under the administration’s policy, almost no European Jews would’ve been accepted for citizenship prior to the Holocaust.

Just last week, Ocean County, a rare conservative stronghold in New Jersey, filed a suit against New Jersey AG Gurbir Grewal over his orders to counties barring them from providing information about illegal aliens to ICE.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency relies on data from county jails to identify illegal immigrants who have violated laws and are prime candidates for deportation. AG Grewal’s directive barring counties from sharing that information is hampering ICE’s efforts.

  1. Its not true that trumps policy would have barred Jews from being accepted before the war.
Number one there wasn’t all of these programs at that time & number 2 & more importantly most of those yidden in fact were self sufficiant . Even if they came with nothing they made it their own responsibility to take care of themselves and they built themselves up . Many of them became very succesful and are the doors of many wealthy people today

  2. This is ridiculous. Trump is meerely enforcing current law. Law that has been on the books for many, many years through several presidents. When I applied for my green card, someone had to vouch for me. It’s not ok for someone with a greencard to immediately be able to receive Gov’t housing, Medicare, and welfare. (Which they currently can and do) They should have to wait until they are a legal citizen before mooching off the system.
