New Jersey Gas Prices up approximately 45 cents since Hurricane Harvey

Hurricane Harvey made landfall late on Friday, Aug. 26. Since then, the tri-state area has seen a substantial increase in gas prices.

Below are the increases seen since Aug. 26:

National average – up 31 cents
Pennsylvania – up 37 cents
Philadelphia – up 41 cents
Wilkes-Barre – 37 cents
New Jersey – 42 cents
South Jersey – 45 cents
Delaware – 48 cents
Maryland – 43 cents

Here are your daily fuel prices from AAA:

Pennsylvania gas average at $2.91 today, unchanged overnight and up 21 cents in the last week.
New Jersey gas average at $2.79 today, down a penny overnight and up 24 cents in the last week.
Delaware gas average at $2.69 today, down a penny overnight and up 19 cents in the last week.
Maryland gas average at $2.74 today, down a penny overnight, up 20 cents in the last week.
The Philadelphia (5-county) area gas average at $2.95 today, unchanged overnight and up 22 cents in the last week.
S. Jersey gas average at $2.73 today, down a penny overnight and up 23 cents in the last week.
Wilkes-Barre area gas average at $2.89 today, unchanged overnight and up 23 cents in the last week.
National gas average at $2.67 today, unchanged overnight, up 15 cents in the last week.

  1. Just, Fyi, most places r around $2.69-$2.79. For some reason, some places, like on the corner of 9 and lennedy are 2.99. Watch before u buy.

  2. it should be noted that the price of gasoline in the market has fallen below pre harvey prices so those stations should go down or be reported to the state .
