Drivers in New Jersey who use E-ZPass will now be able to use their tags to pay for parking and gas in the state.
According to mobile payment company PayByCar, Inc., the program, known as Driven by E-ZPass, will allow gas stations using PayByCar’s technology to receive a text message when they pull up to the pump asking if they want to use the service.
And when drivers pull into an off-street parking lot or garage, the entrance gate will automatically open.
In both cases receipts will be sent to the driver’s phone.
The service reduces the opportunity for fraud from card skimmers or other devices and cuts the transaction time at gas stations in half, the company said.
E-ZPass customers need to opt in and open an account to use Pay By Car/ Driven by E-ZPass which can be done on the Pay by Car website or by texting ‘ENROLL‘ to 617-249-7524.
Users will also have the option to add a payment option as the toll account would not be charged.
New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware will also be participating.

OK, And what about the tags on the license plates? Can we start worring about these tags get stolen and used for paying gas at gas stations?
GREAT QUESTION!!🤔🤔
If I’m not mistaken, it says that it will text you and you have to accept it
