New Jersey American Water Opens Annual Volunteer Fire and EMS Grant Program

New Jersey American Water announced its 2023 grant program for volunteer fire departments and emergency responders (e.g., ambulance and first aid squads) located within the company’s service areas.

“We are thrilled to continue our tradition of supporting the brave firefighters and first responders through our annual grant program,” said Mark Iannarella, Director of Health and Safety, New Jersey American Water and former volunteer firefighter, Pennsauken Fire Department. “For over a decade, we have proudly recognized these selfless individuals who put their lives on the line every day to keep the communities we serve safe. We are honored to say thank you in this small way and to express our gratitude for their unwavering commitment to service.”

Grants may be used to cover the costs of personal protective equipment, communications gear, first aid equipment, firefighting tools, vehicle maintenance and other materials that will be used to support volunteer firefighter and emergency responder operations. Reimbursement for specific training courses, including the cost of training manuals, student workbooks, and instructors is also eligible.

The maximum grant amount awarded to any organization is $2,500 and the deadline to apply is June 30, 2023.  Interested applicants can find more information and apply online at www.newjerseyamwater.com/community. Grant recipients will be notified by the end of August
