New Home Depot Opens In Brick-Welcomed By Corzine

Governor Jon S. Corzine welcomed the opening of the new Home Depot in Brick yesterday and the more than 180 jobs it will bring for local residents. The store is one of only five Home Depot stores being launched nationwide in 2009. “This is good news for the Garden State and supports employment trends we have seen over the past three months that are leading to increased private sector job growth,” Governor Corzine said. “I want to thank the Home Depot organization for their confidence in the New Jersey market. The company’s investment here is evidence that even during a global economic recession, this state remains a desirable location for business growth and expansion.” Politicker.

For now brick has two home depots and one lowes. Lakewood has none. Our town is too busy using our uez and development resources to line the pockets of a few in dividuals instead of promoting real viable businesses to bring tax revenue. So much easier to just milk the residents than actually find businesses to come to our town. Change is coming. Keep posted to tls

I believe that is officialy part of brick. If I am wrong I apologize. Although we do have the blue claws and strand theatre that brings revenue to the town so much revenue that we spend millions promoting them. Keep up the great work!!

You are both correct. The home depot is in lakewood. But they will probably close down now that they are opening in brick.and the lowes across the street is in brick as well. Whatever businesses such as starbucks and ruby tuesday that opened up in lakewood were given tax incentives to open up here and bring no revenue to the township coffers.he is right we need some creative people to bring some revenue other than townhouse property taxes to this town.

Doesn't make sense to open one and close another, which isn't too much further away. I guess the ceo or whoever decide it's a better location for business.

I love how the dimwitt takes all the credit as if he came up with a brilliant idea
He is just the same old politician we all came to know and hate from the great slums of trenton

maybe we wouldn't need to worry about gaining more tax revenues if our industrial park and town wasn't filled tax exempt schools and houses of worship
