The deadline to file for the vacant Board of Education seat has been postponed to June 11, 2015, a Board official said.
The candidate filling the seat vacated by Chaim Rosenblatt would server until January, 2016.
Thus far, one person has reportedly submitted a resume for the seat.
New Jersey law requires that to be a Board of Education member, a person must: (a) be a citizen and resident of the district and shall have been such for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment; (b) be able to read and write; (c) be registered to vote in the district and not disqualified as a voter; and (d) not been convicted of a disqualifying criminal offense. See, N.J.S.A. 18A:12-1.
Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest in the position and a resume to Thomas A. D’Ambola, Business Administrator, 200 Ramsey Avenue, Lakewood, New Jersey, 08701 by the deadline of 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2015.

Can I add one more requirement? How about college educated? Wouldn’t it be nice if we had a well spoken intellectual with a real degree to represent us? It would be even nicer if the representitive had a degree and works in education too.
