The Ocean County Road Department will be milling and paving New Central Avenue between Rt 547 and 528, beginning on Monday, April 30. The project will begin at approximately 7 AM on Monday and continue throughout the day, for several days.
If you have any questions concerning the project, you call the Road Department at 732-929 -2133.
Why can’t they do the road work overnight instead of morning? People go to work and the children are being picked up by school busses. There is lots and lots of traffic at that time, mainly school busses and children.
Please tell us the Street names to be blocked Off!!!
At night we people who live on new central avenue like to sleep as it is a residental neighborhood. For all you people who think that they can make all the noise they want, while taking their nightly strolls they should be aware tha they are heard and they do disturb. So if i can fix your street while you are trying to sleep, well see how well you take that – as new central avenue is a residential street as well as the block you probally live on. Thank you for your understanding.

Whatever people do others complain especially when the the township or county does something even though ppl would have to change their their schedule a little because theycant understand that they just want to fix their block and make it nicer and less bumpy and if they don’t fix it ppl will complain how come they can’t fix the streets and this is y
I have not been on New Central lately, but has anyone traveled on East County Line Road recently? It is like driving on a third world road!
EVERYONE STOP COMPLAINING THE ROAD NEEDS THIS FACELIFT BADLY, LET THEM FIX IT AND JUST THINK HOW NICE IT WILL BE TO DRIVE ON A SMOOTH ROAD. SO JUST DO IT AND GET IT OVER WITH. THANK YOU
to #3 i agree with you, once on shabbas around 1oclock in the morning while our famliy was sleeping others were out walking around and being very loud and woke up my kids since our windows were open. i also live on new central and if they have to do the work so be it aleast they are giving everyone a warning to be prepared for it.
And like most newly paved roads in Ocean County, withing 6 months it will be so full of patched up openings you would think it was never paved.

547 is Hope Chapel Rd in Jackson at the blinker light. 528 is Lakewood-New Egypt Rd in Lakewood (by Hatzola) at the traffic light. Hint- google or yahoo or msn maps.

Est county line road is like driving through an obstacle course. Its crazy, especially near brook road.
547 is Hope Chapel. 528 is Central/Lakewood-New Egypt
#9 I won’t even give it that long. With some of the construction going on on new central, give it a few weeks. As for everyone who doesn’t know where 528 and 547 is , what do you pay attention to while you are driving? if you say you do pay attention and don’t know then you must not drive these roads very often. BUT how do you live in lakewood and not know where 528 is? Really?
Why 7AM though? Is there a plan for the school busses?

just to let everyone know the ocean county road department just postponed the work on new central ave until july. we just recieved a letter they are changing the date since school will be out and there wont be as much traffic with the buses.
