Well, not exactly. But a Hatzolah call at a local Shul on Shabbos morning, landed the Minyan with a life-saver – in more than one way.
After treating a patient who collapsed at a Simcha in a Shul at about 10 AM Shabbos morning, Hatzolah members were asked if any of them happen to know how to Lein.
To their luck, one of the Hatzolah members on the call – a Paramedic – just so happens to be the Baal Koreei in his own Shul.
So after the others transported the patient to the hospital, the Baal Koreei remained to serve as their Baal Koreei.
When he finished his unexpected job, the Shabbos Goy – who waited patiently outside during Krias Hatorah – took the Baal Korei back to his own Shul, where he performed his other official duties. TLS.
Wow what a cool story and yes a real life saver
