Nearly 1,300 Without Power in Jackson

Nearly 1,300 Jersey Central Power & Light customers are without power this morning in Jackson, as temperatures are expected to reach into the high 90’s.

No cause has been provided for the outage but JCP&L says they expect the power to be restored by 3:30pm.

A heat advisory is in effect for most of the state today as a prolonged period of heat and increasing humidity will continue to build this week and into the weekend.

Yesterday, AAA issued a reminder for parents and caregivers of the dangerous temperatures inside vehicles and the deadly risk those temperatures can pose to children

  1. USP&L Issues Stern Warning: “Biden Could Soon Be Left Without Power, And His Power Will Likely Never Be Restored!”
The ‘United States Power & Light’ utility company [USP&L] warned President Biden on Tuesday that a loss to Donald Trump in the upcoming Presidential election would likely mean that Mr. Biden would be left without power for the foreseeable, and unforeseeable, future, and that his power, in all likelihood, would never be restored again, unless he runs for reelection in 2028.
“Unfortunately, presidential elections have the capability to effect our nation’s power grid in a profound and unparalleled manner,” said USP&L Director of Power Outage Management, Paul Lichtberg, “to the point where an individual who has had all the power that he can possibly need for 4 consecutive years – with absolutely no power outages during that time period – can suddenly lose all of that power overnight due to a storm of opposition at the polling stations.”
“I’ve given my reassurance to Mr. Biden that we at USP&L are working hand-in-hand with his campaign staffer to prepare for the inevitable Trump storms that will likely strike land within the next several months or so,” Mr. Lichtberg told reporters on Tuesday. “Maintaining the current stability and status of our nation’s power structures and power grids in the face of the violent Trump storms that will soon arrive at our shores is of paramount importance to USP&L. We want to ensure that Mr. Biden has all the power that he needs for at least the next 4 1/2 years or so.”
