(U/D in extended article). (Photo from earlier incident). With only a few hours to Shabbos, nearly 1,000 Lakewood residents are left without electricity in their homes. Hundreds of residents in the James and Route 9 area alone have been affected due to the earlier chaotic incident. TLS spoke with JCP&L moments ago who said that they do not have an exact time of when power will be restored, but it will probably take at least another couple of hours. TLS also spoke with Chaveirim Shabbos Hosting Program Director R’ Yehuda Tzvi Rotberg who said that many families are not taking the risk and have left their homes for Shabbos. It is also worth noting, that during the James & 9 crisis, Chaveirim members jumped into high gear to assist PD and in evacuating B’nos Rivka Rochel as well as the surrounding area. A Special Thank You must be given to Chaveirim members: Unit #16, #31, #29, #47 and #40.
