N.J. Residents Who Move Due To Foreclosure Must Notify Election Officials To Vote

voting boothPeople who have moved because of foreclosures are not precluded from voting next month, but they do have to alert registration officials, the state Division of Elections said today. Those who have moved within their counties need to notify their county registration commissioner of their new addresses. People who moved within the same election district can cast ballots on voting machines. Those who moved outside their election district and did not notify the commissioner can vote by provisional ballot in their new towns.

Mailed ballots must be received by the county clerk no later than seven days before the general election. Voters can download the application or complete one in person at their county clerk’s office. Those who go in person to the clerk’s office have until 3 p.m. Nov. 1 to complete their applications. Read full article in Star Ledger.
