N.J. Gov. Christie ‘100%’ Sure He’s Not Running In 2012, May Run In 2016

Christie Tinton Falls TLSNew Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he’s “100% certain” he will not run for president next year, but the rising GOP star did not completely close the door to a White House bid in 2016. Christie, who has been praised in the Republican Party for his handling of New Jersey’s budget woes, made his comments in an interview Tuesday with CNN’s Piers Morgan. The governor, first elected in 2009, repeatedly has turned down entreaties to run next year.

“You’re wrong. I’m 100% certain I’m not going to run,” Christie said after being asked by Morgan if he could look the TV host in the eye and unequivocally state his intentions about next year.

Christie also said he doesn’t yet see a “best option” in the GOP field who can take on President Obama. More in USA Today.

  1. He’s smart. Build up reputation a little more and then try when there is no uncumbent. He’ll have a much better chance that way. I personaly would vote for him. He’s tough and doesn’t bend to political pressure. He says things blunt the way they are. He doesn’t talk in political riddles.
